With the recent success of Wale the nation's capitol has come together to form multiple successful record labels and artists. Sitting prominently among them is Inner Loop Records, featuring an impressive number of local artists from DC and Virginia.

This is DMV Hip Hop. Gritty, raw like the streets of DC but still delivered with a trademark
swagger and lyrical finesse. As I watched the hottest local producers and rappers grace the stage, the only thing I could think was…this can’t be the last one! The seventh (and final) Beatdown and third stop on the Capitol City Music Tour did not disappoint.

The Capitol City Music Tour -- a revue of local rappers that crosses back and forth between the District and Northern Virginia through mid-December -- landed downtown at Eyebar, Tuesday. But the MCs never actually jumped on stage; they jumped on couch, spitting emphatic verses from a VIP booth near the bar.
