Some folks arent that good as stand alone artist but your right laelo it also was short hand me being lazy when i make the brackets it probably wont be that way ill take the named artist or best 1's from the groups as i see fit. point taken.

This is a pretty good list, but I definitely think Substantial *needs* to be included.

And since veterans like Nonchalant and Black Indian are included, I think you definitely should put Asheru and Head Roc on the list.

This looks like an open mic line-up...moreless than a DMV Top MC List.

What is the criteria? What are the standards?

Now if some Record Exec. or A&R seen this list and listened to every artist...I am sure he/she would be highly disappointed. If we are going to represent and support ourselves (DMV artists) we must set standards and not just kiss ass and try to be everybody's friend. Every person to touch a mic in the DMV is not going to get a record deal, get played on the radio, etc. There will only be a small percentage. And that small percentage is who we should be supporting, which will then open the floodgates for the rest. This list should be no longer than 10 unique and outstanding artists.

How about you breakdown why each one of these rappers made the list? What makes them the TOP? Why their skills, persona, appeal, etc should represent the DMV?

Also, rappers don't dictate who is hot and who is not.....FANS DO!!!

P.S. For every artist who made this poorly executed list and for those that didn't make it...you all are the best at something...Find it...Get it...and Own it!

When I do the bracket i have every intent of explaining why when each person advances ill explain how and why ive never given an opinion not based on research. EVER! Im no yes man i don't kiss ass you can ask anyone in this AREA that knows me an even those that don't. Ill tell anyone what i like or dont and why from WALE/DON JUAN/TABI etc to the boy next door trying to do it.
